2. How can I order a HIP?

Login to www.oyezhipag.co.uk, click the ‘Manage HIP’s’ tab and then ‘Create a HIP’
Estate Agents and Property Lawyers can place orders for HIP’s
See our guide at http://www.hipag.co.uk/resources.aspx

3. How can I test www.oyezhipag.co.uk?

You can try out the Hipag system, free of charge, by ordering up to four FREE Mini-HIP’s. Follow on-line instructions to place your orders

See the guide at http://www.hipag.co.uk/resources.aspx

4. Why do I need to set up an affiliation?

To order a leasehold or unregistered HIP, the seller must select a Hipag solicitor when ordering, as additional documents and information will need to be obtained. The solicitor will advise any additional costs directly to the seller.

When ordering a leasehold or unregistered HIP, Hipag will provide some of the core documents; the Hipag solicitor will add any other legally ‘Required’ documents

Estate Agents can select any current Hipag members to be added to their preferred Solicitors List by clicking on Manage Solicitors and searching by the relevant field. (Leaving all fields blank and clicking search will display all solicitors)

If you wish to add solicitors that are not current Hipag members you can invite them to join by clicking on the Invite User tab. We will then send them an email telling them how they can join Hipag.

Property Lawyers will soon be able to affiliate with Estate Agents in the same way. In the mean time the details can be forwarded to info@hipag.co.uk.

5. What payment methods do you accept?

We have a number of payment options that can automatically be selected when ordering a HIP at www.oyezhipag.co.uk simply follow the on-line instructions. The options are:

  • Credit card - seller pays up-front using their credit or debit card
  • Deferred credit – seller receive up to 10 months credit or pays on completion. We will shortly be sending Agency Agreements to customers that would like to offer this option
  • Billed to your credit account – the estate agent or property lawyer can bill the cost of the HIP to their Hipag credit account. Before you can select this option you will need to have opened a credit account with us.

6. How do I open a credit account?

If you have not already done so please send a credit account application form and Direct Debit form together with a copy of your letterhead to:

Hipag Accounts Department
Unit 4
Stafford Cross
Stafford Road
Croydon
CR0 4TU

Download the forms at http://www.hipag.co.uk/gettingstarted.aspx

If you currently subscribe to Hipag by Direct Debit you will NOT need to set up another credit account.

7. What are Hipag’s credit terms?

Our standard credit terms are 30 days, collected by Direct Debit on the 15th day of the following month.

8. How does your deferred payment work?

We provide the only deferred credit product exclusively developed for the sale of HIP’s. This works as follows:

  • Selected ‘deferred credit’ at the end of the ordering process on www.oyezhipag.co.uk
  • Our deferred credit provider, HIP Payment Services will take a payment of £3.50 from the debit or credit card to ensure the card is valid and there are funds on the card
  • No further payment is due until
    • The property is sold
    • Change of estate agent
    • The property is taken off the market
    • Ten months has elapsed
  • For further details please see our full guide to deferred credit, along with questions and answers, at http://www.hipag.co.uk/gettingstarted.aspx

10. Do you have an order form for taking off-site HIP orders?

A printed order form is available here. This form can be used to collect orders off-site. The details can then be entered into www.oyezhipag.co.uk when you are back in your office.

In order to comply with industry best practice and to reduce the risk of credit card fraud we recommend that credit card numbers and security codes are not written down on order forms. Our suggested advice is that one should arrange to phone the seller to capture card details when back in their office. For more help with off-site orders click here.

11. How can Estate Agents and Property Lawyers work together?

There are a number of ways that solicitors and estate agents can work together

  • For maximum flexibility Hipag on-line has been designed to allow either the estate agent or the property lawyer to be the originator of HIP orders
  • Hipag on-line can also be configured so that estate agents can work in association with their local Hipag Solicitor
  • In these circumstances it will be possible for the estate agent to place orders via Hipag on-line, with the sellers details automatically sent by e-mail to their preferred Hipag solicitor
  • Another way of working is that the estate agent may want to collect the order details on a printed form and fax or give this form to the Hipag Property Lawyer, in this instance the Property Lawyer will take responsibility for placing the order
  • The Hipag Property Lawyer, if instructed by the seller, will also assist with leasehold and unregistered packs. Many also prepare a legal précis/summary to help estate agents and buyers
  • The Hipag Property Lawyer will also make the pack comprehensive by obtaining documents and information that will speed up the conveyancing process.

A full guide to the Hipag’s unique quick pack/comprehensive pack concept is available at http://www.hipag.co.uk/resources.aspx

12. Do I need any special equipment?

We recommend that you have software to create, edit and save PDF documents. Please visit our website for further information http://www.hipag.co.uk/documents.aspx

We also recommend you obtain a scanner in order to upload information that will be included in the HIP, this is especially important for colour documents. A list of suggested scanners can be found on our website http://www.hipag.co.uk/scanning.aspx
